How to Apply:


The program must be open to submit an application.* Applications may be dropped off or mailed to the IEC office when we are accepting applications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age within 45-days after the closing application date.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency certificate; or have completed an associate degree or higher from an educational institution accredited by a state education agency.
  • One year of high school algebra, Integrated Math II or equivalent with a grade of C or higher, or submit equivalent math placement test scores. If the algebra, Integrated Math II (or equivalent) was taken over two years ago, equivalent math placement test scores within the previous two year must be submitted.
  • Math placement scores must be math 65 / 70 or higher

Additional Employment Conditions

  • Employers may require a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Employers may require a valid driver’s license & meet the employers liability insurance carrier requirements
  • Employers may require a background check 

Veteran's Entry

  • Veterans may apply to the program, be scored, and placed at the top of the Ranked Pool of Eligibles at any time if they meet the minimum qualifications of the program and if they are:
    • Members of the Regular services who have been discharged from active duty service with a DD214 issued within the past 24 months indicating an Honorable Discharge
    • Members of the Selected Reservce or Individual Ready Reserve with a DD214 issued within the past 24 months; OR
    • Members of the Oregon National Guard currently active or with a DD214 issued within the past 24 months
