Government Affairs Committee

  • Develops a proactive public policy agenda
  • Analyzes the impact of laws and regulation on electrical contractors and the industry
  • Acts as advocates for the industry with public officials
  • Interview, recommend & endorse candidates running for public offices
  • Meets quarterly (monthly during legislative session)

Membership & Events Committee

  • Develops new, improved ways to serve members
  • Plans events to promote IEC membership and networking opportunities for members
    • Annual Conference, Trade Show & Benefit Auction
    • Annual Business Meeting
    • Educational Seminars 
  • Meets 4-5 times a year

Safety and Training Council

  • Promotes safety in the electrical industry
  • Keeps members informed about Oregon OSHA regulations
  • Advocate and participate in regulatory advisory committee with Oregon OSHA
  • Promote member participation in National’s SPARK safety program
  • Meets 4-5 times a year

Workforce Development & Apprenticeship Committee

  • Develops outreach programs for the next generation of electrical professionals
  • Helps organize annual Wire-off Competition
  • Visits high schools, participates in career days to help promote the industry
  • Meets monthly October through May to plan for Wire-off Competition
